Abigail King is a freelance writer specializing in travel writing for both print and online publications and medical writing for academic journals.
Her work has been published in National Geographic’s Intelligent Travel, France Today, Athletics Weekly, the Emergency Medical Journal, Critical Care and more. Abigail King read Neuroscience at Cambridge University before completing her medical training at Imperial College, London
She squeezed two round-the-world trips into her medical schedule as well as a course on Wilderness Medicine at Oxford University and one on Extreme Medicine & Antarctica at the Plymouth base.
She worked as a hospital doctor specialising in Emergency Medicine from 2002 to 2008 before starting a full-time freelance writing career.
Abigail King spent two months in Moshi, Tanzania, working with children in the local hospital, KCMC. She also lived in France and is able to interview sources in French.
